“As a commitment of honesty, of ethics in the exercise of public function”, this is how Commander Hugo Chávez should be honored on the tenth anniversary of his departure.
And it is that, in the words of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, the best way to remember it is “as a present, as a future challenge.” In short, his legacy calls for “maximum honesty, maximum adherence to ethics, permanent work” in order to guarantee an effective response to the most sensitive demands of the people.
From Agua Blanca, located in the state of Portuguesa, he reiterated that far from “remembering it as the past, remembering it crying,” the ideal tribute to his memory is permanent work and study, “a smile and a face set to the horizon.”
” 10 years have passed (since his departure) which would seem like 100 years due to the intensity of the events we have faced, but just as 100 years seem like, it seems like yesterday when we gave our last greetings to our beloved Commander, the man who brought to Venezuela the idea of agricultural development as the basis of a new economic model, to be a self-sustaining country”.
He assured that Chávez must be remembered as a commitment to honesty, ethics, in the exercise of public office, in the permanent fight against corruption, corruption and bandits.
“We have to take out the ax and the machete to clear the land of bandits and move forward honestly, being loyal to the people who need us to improve their quality of life so that things work well. That is the biggest effort I have, that we have to have as a society, see ourselves as a team, the Venezuela team, and we must row in the same direction so that things can move forward,” insisted the president.
In this sense, he urged those who hold public office to “be loyal to the people who need our work and need results to improve their quality of life.”
“Those who have a position have to dedicate themselves 24 hours a day to public service honestly, to attend to their duties and get the best results from permanent work. Our people expect it that way, they deserve it that way, ”he emphasized.
He stressed that, currently, achieving full union as a society should be the primary objective of Venezuelans. In this regard, he pointed out that “the biggest effort we have as a society is to see ourselves as a team, rowing towards the same port so that things improve.”
