To the rhythm of the harp, the cuatro and the maracas, and in the voice of El Cubirito, the song Que viva mi gallo Nico! is played. Hundreds of militants of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela and the Great Patriotic Pole, as well as workers, housewives, students, youth members and public officials filled the Ciudad Bolivia Avenue, in the Corazón de Jesús parish in the city of Barinas.
With banners, flags, slogans and messages of “I’m going to my Gallo Pinto”, the people of Barinas attended the activity in support of the PSUV candidate for the presidency of Venezuela, in the process scheduled for July 28.
Part of the national and regional leadership of the PSUV accompanied Maduro to the event, including Jaqueline Faria, political liaison in Barinas, independent and PSUV mayors, as well as musical groups of renowned artists who enlivened the activity.
At 6:00 pm, President Maduro arrived with his wife Cilia Flores and Jorge Rodríguez, President of the National Assembly, and after greeting those present, he addressed his message urging a massive vote to guarantee peace and democracy in the country, as well as congratulating the children on their day.
“From here, Chavez went on to the great victory that made him president of the Republic. Here I am, Nicolas Maduro, son of Chavez, and I am going to the victory of July 28,” he said.
He said that Barinas is experiencing a true revolutionary renaissance. “Barinas has the experience of those who elected a right-wing governor, what is that governor doing with the money I send him, idiot?” he asked the crowd.
“The people are going to get rid of that thorn, here in Barinas we are going to win by a landslide, I have the morale to face the people, who was by your side, brought peace during the riots, or when the pandemic arrived?”, and the crowd answered “Maduro” to each of the questions from the candidate sponsored by the Gran Polo Patriótico.
Venezuela must choose between a left-wing revolutionary president and a right-wing one. “I am a president from the streets, independent, free and sovereign, and I am not a puppet of anyone. I only answer to God and the people. I answer to neither oligarchies nor enemies,” he said.
During the rally, the candidate repeatedly asked the crowd to lower their banners so that they would not interrupt the recording: “I came to see your faces, not your banners, we are going to lower them.
He commented on the 14 measurements that have been made, which he reviewed together with the head of the Venezuela Nuestra campaign command, Jorge Rodríguez, and stated that “the map is reddish red, the map of Venezuela is Bolivarian, we are going to win again because the one who guarantees the peace and independence of the country is Maduro,” he said.
“I have the support of the FANB and the military-civil police union,” he added.
Maduro mentioned Joe Biden’s resignation from the candidacy for the presidency of the United States, for health and age reasons. “I think he made a healthy decision, for his health, it was a responsible attitude. In his six years of government we have maintained a permanent dialogue and from Venezuela I wish him health and a long life, with our differences, but we are Christians and humanists. To be president you have to be in iron health, I take care of myself and prepare myself.”
