Maduro receives credentials from the Spanish ambassador

The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, received this Tuesday the credentials of the ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Ramón Santos Martinez, thus establishing the reestablishment of relations between the two nations.

With the delivery of credentials, Venezuela and Spain reestablish diplomatic relations, after two years without the European nation appointing a representative in the country.

Martínez was appointed by Spain last December 2021.

Santos had been working as Chargé d’Affaires at the Spanish embassy in Venezuela since November 2020.

It should be noted that the National Assembly approved on January 10 the appointment of Coromoto Godoy as the new ambassador of Venezuela to Spain.
