Maduro received new ambassadors from Nicaragua, China, Guinea and Vietnam in Miraflores

The administration of Nicolás Maduro maintains various agreements and cooperation with Nicaragua, China, Vietnam and Equatorial Guinea. The four new ambassadors were received on the afternoon of May 2


The governor Nicolas Maduro On the afternoon of Tuesday, May 2, he received the new ambassadors of Nicaragua, China, Equatorial Guinea and Vietnam, countries with which he maintains alliances in political, economic and agri-food matters.

At the Miraflores Palace, the Venezuelan president received Ambassador Deysi Torres Bosques as the representative of the Republic of Nicaragua in the country.

Torres Bosques served as mayor of Managua, the Nicaraguan capital, in 2009. In 2021 she served as president of the Departmental Electoral Council of that city and is considered one of the most loyal officials to the Daniel Ortega regime, criticized for its continuous violations of human rights and the lack of democratic guarantees in that country.

Maduro also received the new ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Lan Hu, who will assume the leadership of the diplomatic mission to replace Li Baorong, who finished his service in Venezuela on March 27 after a five-year work cycle.

Lan Hu already has experience in the country. Between 2012 and 2016 he served as a counselor at the Embassy in the country. He previously served as ambassador to Colombia, a position he obtained in 2019. In addition, he was a counselor and deputy director of the General Directorate for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, the new Chinese ambassador delivered his copies of the style to Foreign Minister Yván Gil, who pointed out that they will be committed to “promoting relations of brotherhood and cooperation, based on the principles of respect, equality and reciprocal benefit with a vision of the future.”

Through the China-Venezuela High Level Mixed Commission, both countries maintain cooperation agreements in the financial, energy, educational, agricultural, cultural, health, science and technology, oil and aerospace areas.

Last March, Nicolás Maduro emphasized that bilateral relations “have reached their best level of mutual trust, cooperation and work.”

The Venezuelan ruler also received the ambassador of Equatorial Guinea, Marcos Ndong Ndong Edu Nchama, in Miraflores. Cooperation ties and agreements on energy, health and education are maintained with that country.

In addition, the new ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vu Trung My, was introduced.

Maduro has reiterated his willingness to move forward with Vietnam “on all issues of diplomacy”, and to promote cooperation in the oil, gas, petrochemical, economic, commercial, scientific, technological and agricultural areas.
