The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, presented this Friday three elements that, in his opinion, will allow Venezuela to advance “on its own feet” towards an independent development model. The message was directed especially to the students of the University of Sciences Dr. Humberto Fernández Moránduring the celebration of the first anniversary of this academic institution.
Maduro described his approach as “a perfect formula that you are going to turn into an equation,” inviting the student community to assume a leading role in the construction of the country’s scientific and productive future.
The president highlighted that these principles seek to strengthen the national capacity to innovate, produce and advance without depending on external factors, in a global context that, as he stated, requires greater technological and scientific autonomy.
Three elements to move forward “on your own feet”
During his speech, Maduro listed the three components of the proposed formula. The first consists of learning from everyone around the world, taking advantage of international knowledge, experiences and advances to enrich Venezuelan education.
The second element is to do everything in Venezuela, which implies promoting national production, developing internal capabilities and promoting innovation from the territory.
Finally, the third point is not to depend on anyone in any aspect, a line that, according to the president, should guide the scientific, technological and productive development of the country.
“Result, independence, tranquility and happiness to build our own society,” added the president.
Message to the student community
Maduro urged the young people of the Dr. Humberto Fernández Morán University of Sciences to assume these principles as a guide for their training and professional future. He stressed that the country requires talent capable of creating, researching and solving challenges based on its own knowledge.
The president highlighted that the institution, created to promote applied science and research, represents a pillar to advance towards a development model based on innovation and technological sovereignty.
