The ruler Nicolás Maduro asked this Friday, November 29, to promulgate the Simón Bolívar Law approved by the National Assembly (AN), which establishes prison sentences of up to 30 years, the maximum amount in Venezuela.

Signed, endorsed and executed from this moment,” said Maduro during the International Conference in Solidarity with Palestine.

The new law It is created in response to an instrument that bears a similar name: Bolívar Law, approved on November 18 by the United States House of Representatives, which attempts to “cut off the financial lifeline” to Maduro, which has upset the administration.
