The ruler affirmed that they will create a bond only compensation of 10 thousand bolivars for retirees from January 1, 2018 to May 1, 2022
President Nicolás Maduro celebrated this May 1st with nationwide marches for Labor Day, but left more than one with the kinks made by not announcing an expected salary increase. The ruler limited himself to promising (since 2018) to bring the salary to half a petro “sooner rather than later, because everything depends on wealth.”
According to Maduro, any extra income that enters the country will go to improve salary scales. “Without much noise.” According to his predictions, “the second half of the year will be of greater growth than what we have had in recent months.” In his opinion, all collective contracts and conventions in the country must be improved, “without exception.”
Maduro approved the creation of a special financing fund for workers who want to finance projects and cooperatives. Also a national fund that works directly under the direction of the working class that will have as an initial contribution 100 million bolivars (about 20 million dollars).

Other announcements were the creation of the digital bank for workers to deposit benefits in petro, which according to Maduro, will be created and the creation of a workers’ superintendence.
The ruler stated that they will create a compensatory bonus for retirees from January 1, 2018 to May 1, 2022. «A unique bonus of 10 thousand bolivars which will be contributed in three tranches to compensate and repair the retirees of that period». He recognized that it will surely be necessary to compensate the retirees from further back and for that reason he will evaluate it. “We must ensure that retirees from now on have a fair payment.”
Maduro approved the creation of a national recreation and tourism system for workers, “where they can go with their families and all expenses paid. I make available 100 tourist destinations: Los Roques, Canaima, La Orchila, Morrocoy, Gran Sabana, Mochima. That comes. With the recovery of Venezuela comes the best for the workers,” he said.
Regarding the Organic Labor Law (LOT), he said that they have a legal debt, which is why he called on the deputies of the National Assembly (AN), elected in 2020, to work for the promised laws. “10 years have passed and the laws mandated by the LOT signed by Chávez have still not been passed. Law of workers who perform work in the home. Homeworkers Law. Motorized Workers Law. Law of professional sports workers. Farm Workers Law. Transportation Workers Law. Law of maritime, river and lake navigation workers. Air Transport Workers Law. Law of cultural workers. Law of workers with a disability. To pay for that list of laws, the president gave a year as a term.
