Maduro postulates in the UN the dialogue for peace to the Russia-Ukraine conflict

The aspiration of the Venezuelan people for peace in a multipolar and pluricentric world, the defense of the truth and the principles of coexistence and rationality, as well as the rejection of the mechanisms of coercion against Venezuela and other countries, were the highlights of the message sent this Saturday by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to the 77th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN).

The speech, which represents an Open Letter to Humanity by the National President and was presented by Foreign Minister Carlos Faría, emphasized important issues such as the offer of our country as a mediator in the war between Russia and Ukraine, being the dialogue the mechanism for a solution and understanding between the parties.

“For my country, that of a people that has never participated in an international armed conflict, there is no other way than peace, justice, trust and respect for international law,” he emphasized.

In this sense, the head of state stated that our nation subscribes to the pacification proposal presented by the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, before the UN General Assembly, which advocates the creation of an international commission to facilitate sovereign dialogue between Russia and Ukraine and we are at your disposal to facilitate your conditions.

The National President also referred in his message to the 77th UN General Assembly to the unilateral coercive measures against Venezuela.

He specified that these are cruel measures that can be classified as crimes against humanity that violate the rights of the Venezuelan people. He indicated that 913 illegal sanctions weigh on the country that have caused the nation losses of 150,000 million dollars, while around 10,000 million dollars in deposits in banks and funds abroad remain blocked.

He requested an end to the illegal economic sanctions and political persecution against Nicaragua, against sister Cuba, Iran and Russia and that the Argentine people be repaired and their rights over the Malvinas Islands be returned.
