In a meeting with the candidates and candidates of the great patriotic pole Simón Bolívar, to the elections of May 25, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro denounced that “there was a conspiracy to avoid the Canonization of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández ”.
Madururo recalled that after 15 days of having held an encounter with Pope Francis, the Pontiff, through a letter he told him that “he had achieved the file of José Gregorio Hernández involved in a draw day.
He also explained that Pope Francis began the process for the claim of the work of the doctor of the poor. “And he picked up the file, dusted it, and began the process to claim how our Catholic Church, the name, work, the miraculous and sanctifier impact of our poor doctor, José Gregorio Hernández,” had to be.
He assured that for the month of April, of the year 2024, the signing of the decree was ready. “And the decree did not arrive, and it did not arrive (…) He (Pope) told some Venezuelans (…) I remember a year or so, if I remember correctly in April (…) just a video came out for the social networks that went viral (…) where he told a Venezuelan I have good news. I will sign the canonization (…) and then things happen that I will not bring here (…).
The president pointed out that, after the years, Pope Francis “greatly claimed the name of our Holy Doctor, of our Holy José Gregorio, of our San José Gregorio Hernández de Isnotú.”
He said that in the seriousness of the disease of the Jesuit Pope, he (Maduro) sent a letter to the high pontiff, “we had good epistolary communication,” he said.
“Six, seven weeks ago I wrote a letter (…) We had good epistolary communication, as they say, for letters that did not pass by any person in the Vatican, but arrived direct (…) and in the bed of his gravity bed, in his sick bed, the doctors did not expect but the worst and signed the decree canonizing our San José Gregorio Hernández.
The Head of State announced that he will send a Venezuelan delegation to the Vatican to honor the memory of Pope Francis.
The delegation is made up of Foreign Minister Yván Gil and the mayor of Caracas, A/J Carmen Meléndez.
In an emotional message, Maduro called the Christian union in the world. “This loss (that of Pope Francis) becomes an engine of collective solidarity and dialogue between nations. Let’s learn from the lessons and humility that are the values of Christ redeemer of peoples. Francisco is a moral reference”
