Maduro: our proposals had a great impact in Egypt

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, assured this Wednesday that the proposals issued by Venezuela at the XXVII Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change had a significant impact.

“It has been a day of high impact Within the summit itself, exhibitions have had an impact, especially the creation of the Fund to support the victims of climate change if necessary”, said the President after his arrival in the country.

He expressed that now it is necessary to wait for the agreements to be fulfilled and for there to be a consensus. “We leave a high-impact proposal in the country and in international matters and the debate continues to develop.”

He assured that during his participation in the food table he had different opinions. «In diversity is the debate. There were quite diverse positions there, resulting in vast proposals to support the countries in the production of seeds for agricultural production, soil and land treatment, in the process of deterioration that the lands have experienced as a result of climate change, that is, a vital issue that has worsened even more with the war in Ukraine, which puts us in an existential challenge that we are assuming, which is to convert Venezuela with more than 33 million hectares, of good soil, of good water, of good sun, in a true food power in our continent and in the world”, he said.

Challenges of Venezuela

Maduro expressed that the challenge for Venezuela is to become a food power, with more than 33 million hectares for planting.

He recalled that 196 countries participated in the Summit and geopolitics moved in the corridors, what you see says a lot about how the world moves and the role that Venezuela is called to play.

He stressed that Venezuela will promote education to face climate change.

«We made a tour of the green zone of the summit where the social movements were and almost unanimous we had an affectionate attitude from the militants of the world ecology. Venezuela has a voice that is heard in the world and beyond that the recognition of the battle we have given », he stressed.

He assured that the battle that Venezuela has won against the attacks was also recognized, “this has been observed by the world and has generated admiration. Venezuela has earned the respect of the world.

The Amazon

Regarding the topic of the AmazonMaduro, stressed that Brazil’s plans should be awaited once the President-elect reaches power.

«We have to wait for Lula to arrive to see the plans he has for the Amazonas being the power in that area. There was a consensus between Petro and the President of Suriname to propose an alliance in the world and defend the Amazon. The time has come to finance the Amazon from the powers of the world and that will be strengthened with the arrival of Lula »he added.

ACTO relaunch

In his opinion, consensus was achieved during the meeting held with President Gustavo Petro and President of Suriname.

“There was consensus on the need to relaunch, strengthen the Amazon Treaty Organization (OTCA), and from there, consider an alliance with the world, the president raised something very important, that to defend the Amazon, financing is needed, therefore, we say to the powers of the world, the time has come to finance the Amazon, through the ACTO, I believe that this will take a lot of force, a lot of bellows after the arrival of Luiz Ignacio Lula Da Silva to the presidency of Brazil in January of next year,” he insisted.

Similarly, the President warned that 2030 could be a fatal date for humanity “also in 40 years the planet could be uninhabitable for the human species, according to expert reports.”

Regarding Venezuela’s attention to the victims of the rains, he said that his government will continue to attend to the population, “we have had a month of floods, landslides throughout the country and these are direct effects of climate change. All these events are direct effects of the deterioration and global warming that our region is suffering, especially the Caribbean Sea, the Caribbean countries, in Suriname they are suffering the same, in Colombia, and of course Venezuela, our people are not orphans, our The people have a government, they have support, they have someone who supports them, as has been shown in Las Tejerías, in El Castaño, and in the rest of the country. We will continue to take preventive measures because they have given results, and we will also continue to educate the population a month after the Las Tejerías tragedy,” he said.

He recalled that the world must move towards a world of permanent dialogue, the most powerful countries must respect the countries of the South. “The vigorous economic recovery that we are having in Venezuela in the world is impressive and surprises will come in the last days,” she said.
