The president Nicolás Maduro reacted, this Monday, June 12, to the statements made by the former president of the United States Donald Trump and assured that the ex-president’s objective was always aggression and sanctions against Venezuela.
In this sense, Maduro indicated that another of Trump’s objectives was to make Venezuelan society collapse, so that the United States “seized oil and wealth.”

“Trump has pleaded guilty and it is a crime against humanity against our country. They thought they would come to control the oil, come to seize the Venezuelan gas, in addition Venezuela has certified the main gold reserve in the world and that belongs to the people of Venezuela”.

He affirmed that “Trump could not with Venezuela” and assured that they are focused on building with their own efforts a new economic prosperity, “with new sources of wealth, for our homeland, for our country.”
“Venezuela modestly, but firmly here it is, after the imperial aggressions and more than 900 sanctions, here we are reaching out to Iran and the world, to continue advancing,” he said.
Agreements with Iran
Maduro met with the president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisí, who arrived in the country on Monday as part of his tour of Latin America, which also includes Cuba and Nicaragua.
In this sense, he reported that 25 agreements were signed and new investments are still being negotiated. “We must make the most of the historic visit and conclude new projects, and new investments in all areas, oil, gas, mining.”
He indicated that Venezuela will found a shipping company together with the Arab country that will allow the level of trade to rise from three billion to 10 billion and then to 20 billion dollars.
“We have the Caracas-Tehran flight, we have proposed that we have a daily flight and thus increase Venezuelan tourism and that Venezuelans can get to know the historical lands of what was Persia,” he said.
He assured that Iran plays a fundamental role, as an emerging power in the new world. “Its industrial, scientific and technological development is impressive. It becomes a reference for the peoples who fight for justice, for equality and for a humanity that is truly human”.
