Maduro launches harsh response to criticism from President Petro

The leader of Chavismo assured that exercising popular power is the best way to defend oneself from those who speak ill of Venezuela.

During an event for the election of “justices of the peace,” Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro expressed his discomfort and sent a harsh response to the criticism made by President Gustavo Petro about the political situation and the crisis affecting the neighboring country.

Maduro assured that “The projects in Venezuela are decided by the communities, What is that called, dictatorship or democracy? So that those who still have ears can listen. Because there are many people out there in the world who try to label Venezuela, label it as having the right to interfere in internal affairs.”

It must be remembered that President Petro referred to the situation in Venezuela when speaking at the IV Open Science Forum of Latin America and the Caribbean (CILAC) 2024, held in San Andrés, where he said that The late Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez did not understand that a transition from oil to clean energy had to be made to confront climate change.

“They make fun of the president who says in Colombia, let’s leave oil and coal, because it is the path of social inequality and death; Chávez did not understand me very well and look what is happening to Venezuela, that they no longer know if it is democracy, they no longer know if it is revolution, the people no longer love them,” said Petro.

Given those words, Maduro added that “The best way to defend our sovereignty, our dignity and our honor is by exercising popular power.” and giving shit to those who keep talking stupid things about Venezuela. “Anyone who speaks or gets involved today against Venezuela will dry up.”
