Maduro launches a plan to guarantee "the independence and peace" of all Venezuela

Nicolás Maduro announced on Thursday the launch of the “Independence 200”, in which he said participate in the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), combatant bodies of the militia and the Bolivarian National Militia in “284 battle fronts”, to guarantee “independence and peace” of Venezuela.

“We are activating at this time from north to south, from east to west, from all the coast of the Venezuelan Caribbean, from the border with Colombia, from the Andes, from the east of the country and the south, we are activating 284 battle fronts,” Maduro said in an act from the residential complex Ciudad Caribia, on the outskirts of Caracas, transmitted by the state channel Venezuelan television (VTV).

Maduro appeared accompanied by the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, and the mayor of the Libertador municipality of Caracas, Admiral Carmen Meléndez, among other officials of his administration, as well as inhabitants of the area.

“Starting this operation within the concept of integral defense of the nation, within the conception of the active resistance of the people and within the concept of a permanent offensive of the whole country,” Maduro added, dressed in a cap and speaking through a radio with troops.

In that context, he called “the consolidation of positions” and the “national defensive system.”

The Chavista leader called “to guarantee all the coasts, from end to end, free of imperialists, invaders and groups of violence” and said that if Venezuela has “to fight again” will do it for their freedom, after remembering the historical deeds of independence.

Caracas & Washington

The deployment occurs in the middle of the tensions between Caracas and Washington after the US mobilized in the Caribbean, near the Venezuelan coast, eight military ships with missiles and a nuclear propulsion submarine. In addition, he ordered the sending of ten F-35 combat planes to an air base in Puerto Rico.

Donald Trump’s government accuses Maduro of leading the so -called Los Soles cartel, indicated by the US as a terrorist organization allegedly linked to drug trafficking, which has been the reason for military mobilization in the Caribbean and the increase to 50 million dollars of the reward for information that allows the capture of the Chavista leader, points EFE.

This Monday, Maduro warned about an attempt to promote a “dirty story” against the authorities of their country and bring to the US people to a “war in South America”, to, he said, propitiate a “regime change” and “steal oil, gas and gold” to Venezuela.
