Maduro: it is not time to fail in the face of threats of military aggression

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, joined this Tuesday the march held on the occasion of the Bicentennial of the delivery of the Sword of Peru to the Liberator Simón Bolívar.

On the Los Próceres walk, the commander in chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), dressed in a military jacket, walked several kilometers accompanied by members of his Executive Cabinet.

Upon arriving at the stage, located in the Courtyard of Honor of the Military Academy, the first national leader received the Sword of Peru from the hands of a cadet, a symbol of the tribute that in 1825 was paid to the Father of the Nation for his independence feat that managed to liberate the Andean country. «Today, in its Bicentennial, its freedom and peace are more valid than ever. I receive it 200 years later, with its energy and its liberating force, emancipating people. “That is the sword of victory for all of South America,” he stated.

President Maduro assured that it is not time to fail anyone in this scenario of threats of military aggression by the United States.

“There is no excuse for anyone (…) it is forbidden to fail at this decisive juncture for the existence of the Republic. There are no excuses for anyone, whether civilian, political, military, police, let no one excuse themselves. Failing is forbidden!”

He indicated that in the face of the attacks “we are obliged to grow in this situation (…) we are obliged to be giants as a people, as a Bolivarian National Armed Force, as police forces, as a country (…) we are obliged to demand ourselves and demand 10 times more of what we give, of what we are, of what we have given.”

He reiterated the call to the people and the nation’s security and prevention forces to “demand themselves and give their all for the defense of the homeland.”

Bolívar’s sword walks through Latin America

“Compatriots of our America, Bolívar’s sword is alive, he walks through Latin America and fights in the streets alongside the people for the true independence of the 21st century. Long live Bolívar and his redeeming sword!” he emphasized.

The head of state said that Bolívar lives because his legacy and his memory are present and “everything carries his strength.”

«Two hundred years later we are here, celebrating with the love of the people the struggles of The Liberator; and today we bring him to lead the ideas, battles and victories of this time,” he expressed.

«Today the surprising, revolutionary people of Caracas, in perfect popular-military-police union, have taken to the streets to say that Bolívar is the boss, the commander of the battles of this century. Here was his glorious sword through the streets, receiving after 200 years the cheers, the cheers and the cries of love from a people who refused to forget their leader, their Liberator and who bring him today to guide all the ideas, all the battles and glories of this time,” he stated.

He said that it is beautiful that after 200 years the town is more “alive, energized and empowered” than ever.

The Great Homeland will return

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, gave a special greeting to the soldiers of Colombia, Ecuador, and Bolivia, and affirmed that they are called to once again be a single army in defense of the Great Homeland.

«Rest assured of what I am saying and with absolute certainty, the times of the Great Homeland will return, sooner rather than later, for the emancipation of the oppressed peoples of our beloved South America. Bolívar will return, Sucre will return, the giants will return and the Great Homeland will return, free and united,” said the head of state.

He pointed out that “we were free because united we were under a single command, under a single dream, under a single banner, in a single army. The times of Bolívar have returned,” he noted.

He referred to the Sword of Peru, which was awarded to Simón Bolívar to declare him Liberator of the Andean nation, and which he considers the first president, caused annoyance to the oligarchy of Lima.

Also, he called on all those responsible for military units, the militia, the police forces, and communities, to follow Bolívar’s example.

“If he could build 7 army corps to see all of South America free and guarantee the consolidation of independence (…), we have to be able to defend every inch of this land from any threat of imperialist aggression, wherever it comes, whenever it comes,” he expressed.

A power against hegemonic madness

The head of state pointed out that in “these 17 weeks” of imperialist aggression, psychological warfare and “hegemonicist” madness, the people have built “a power of conscience, of will, political, social and military, which has never before been formed as it is today.”

«Our project is libertarian, emancipatory, unionist of our America, its goal is peace; But it is not the peace of slaves, of cemeteries, of colonies, it is the peace of free, rebellious and independent peoples,” he said.

Solemn oath against imperial threats

At the end of the event, the President urged those present to take a solemn oath, which he said was from the heart and truth.

«For peace, for independence, for freedom, for Bolívar, for Zamora, for Hugo Chávez; In the name of God the Father Almighty, I solemnly swear to bring the legacy and memory of Bolívar to its maximum expression. Bringing the strength of the Liberators in the perfect union, popular-military-police, I swear before this heaven, I swear before our Lord Jesus Christ, that I will give all my effort for the victory of Venezuela against the threats and aggressions of imperialism. I swear that in any circumstance I will know how to set an example and I will be up to the task of defending this land, these skies, plains and mountains, our history and our people, and I swear by the historical memory of our ancestors that the victory will be ours, and we will be able to say with Bolívar: we have triumphed again, we are free. “I swear, keep your oath!” concluded the head of state.
