The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during his customary interview with the Spanish journalist Ignacio Ramonet from the Miraflores Palace, pointed out that in 2024 they “got crazy” with the empire’s plan to destroy the Bolivarian Revolution and the Venezuelan people.
“This year we have ruined the imperialist plan to try to destroy the Bolivarian Revolution. And they maintain their stubborn, obsessed determination to destabilize Venezuela. And then they try to convert, just as they converted the presidential elections on July 28 into a global election, and now with social networks even more so, the manipulation of social networks. How many elections were there in 2024 in the world? hundreds of elections,” he indicated.
He stressed that “the empire believed that in 2024 it could strike a definitive blow in Venezuela, they played a double game. On the one hand, what I have called the diplomacy of deception, which is widely practiced by empires and the American empire in the world, with its different modalities, the diplomacy of deception with false attraction, false offers, to deal with them, then to gain space, stab you in the back; or they also apply at other times the diplomacy of deception based on blackmail, the threat of invasion, of economic wars.”
In turn, he added that the national government knows “all those ways of acting of the American empire and its allies. “They believed that 2024 was the definitive year and they applied the diplomacy of deception, based on negotiations that we developed with the outgoing Joe Biden government, which they completely failed to comply with.”
He pointed out that in reference to the talks in Barbados and Qatar, which “they failed to comply in a vulgar, blatant manner. And underneath, they favored, financed, supported and promoted the resurgence of an outbreak of fascist extreme right that controlled a good part of the Venezuelan opposition, and that once again directed it towards a great conspiracy, the Trojan horse they need to destroy the countries. And they believed, once again, as they believed in the 2002 coup d’état, underestimating us, underestimating the people of Venezuela, they believed that they had the perfect plan. But a small detail, they did not take into account the immense power that the historical bloc of the Bolivarian Revolution has. They did not mention that in Venezuela there is a powerful historical bloc and that it has a perfect fusion between Popular Power, military power and police power.”
Takeovers in Venezuela and the US
On the other hand, he was consulted about Donald Trump’s inauguration in the United States on January 20 and his (Nicolás Maduro) on January 10 in Venezuela. The journalist added that the eyes of the world are on both investitures, to which the Venezuelan head of state said that this is because there is a dispute for control and dominance of Venezuela.
“The elections in Venezuela were on July 28 and those in the US in November, but the world turned them into a global election. Now they want January 10 to be a global takeover. Trying to do what they have not achieved nor will they achieve, which is to destabilize our homeland, destabilize our democracy, derail Venezuela and try to take it down the paths of chaos, division, take it down the paths of confrontation and with chaos, division, violence, calling for a foreign military intervention, which is the ultimate dream of this outrageous idea of Venezuelan fascism, of the extreme right, of trying to apply a method of maximum pressure, violence and destruction of the revolutionary forces of Chavismo,” he highlighted.
He ratified that “Venezuela is at peace, calm, calm and sure of its destiny, sure of its path. And just as we have known how to break up, disrupt, dismantle internal conspiracies, internal fascist Trojan horses, external pressures, mercenaries, terrorists, during these 25 years, we have already had the learning and the capacity to guarantee the people of Venezuela and the peoples of the world that support us, that love us, that love the people of Venezuela, that Venezuela is going to continue its path of independence, peace and revolution.”
Trump to the White House
The national leader indicated that we must wait for the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, to arrive at the White House. “And, after he gets to the White House, we’ll see, well. If you asked me, what is the policy of Bolivarianism in the 21st century? We, the Bolivarians of the 21st century. What is the policy that Commander Chávez taught me? And what is the policy that I have practiced with the United States? I would tell you dialogue, respect and understanding.”
“Here on this side, in this presidential chair, will be Nicolás Maduro Moros with the experience of all these years. And always ready to turn the page for relationships of respect, dialogue, cooperation, with the Government of the United States, with American society and, well, all the people of Venezuela. So, I hope, that is the direction, the destiny of our relationships. Well, let’s hope Donald Trump arrives first and then we’ll see,” he emphasized.
