Maduro ignores union claims and says he has an income protection plan

Chavismo will deploy its machinery in the 24 states of the country on January 23. It will mobilize in rejection of the criminal blockade imposed by the United States government on our Homeland,” the account of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) published in a tweet.

The ruler Nicolás Maduro assured that a plan to protect workers’ income is underway for February, March, April “and the months to come.” Although he did not give further details of the alleged plan, he said that his administration seeks to expand the social protection of Venezuelans.

The statements were made this Monday, January 23, from the Miraflores Palace, at the end of a march called to reject the sanctions that the United States and other countries maintain against his administration. The president asserted that he works to consummate economic growth, through a new model that creates wealth, goods and services.

Despite the days of protests maintained by the unions of health, education and other sectors of the public administration, Maduro did not even show a hint of the increase by mistake, even though nine days have passed since the vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, assured that “soon » the Executive would offer announcements.

Regarding the protests of the unions, the ruler said that “the right” tried to show that a “spiral of violence” would begin again. According to Maduro, Venezuela is “at peace and united.”

He recalled that on January 23, 2019, “the empire tried to impose” Juan Guaidó as interim president, in an alleged attempt to carry out a coup. “Every January 23 will be to commemorate the victory of the people against the blows of imperialism that have been defeated.”

He called on the citizens to remain permanently mobilized and achieve the union of the nation. He once again blamed the sanctions for the economic crisis that has deepened under his administration’s nose and vowed as he has done before that “this year has to be one of national revival.”

On the other hand, he supported the initiative of Argentina and Brazil to create a joint currency for Latin America and the Caribbean.

March of the PSUV

Chavismo marched on January 23 in rejection of the sanctions that the United States (USA) and other countries maintain against the government of Nicolás Maduro. The mobilization occurs simultaneously with a protest call made by the union of education, health and other sectors of the public administration to demand wage and labor improvements.

The ruling party hopes to replicate the mobilization in 24 states of the country. In Caracas, the march will depart at 10:00 in the morning from different points and will end on the town’s balcony of the Miraflores Palace.

“The people mobilize in rejection of the criminal blockade imposed by the United States government on our Homeland,” the account of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) published in a tweet.

“In Caricuao we met with Circuit 5 and brought the message of our President Nicolás Maduro and his 7 lines of work. Information that continues to spread in each territory, warming up for the great march on Monday, January 23,” wrote the mayor of Caracas on Sunday, January 22. Carmen Melendez.
