From Miraflores, Nicolás Maduro told the ruling party that they must prepare for the elections this year in 2025 and that is why he ordered an organizational congress to select candidates. He assured that Colombia will always have his support in the search for peace
Nicolas Maduro received this Thursday, January 23, in Miraflores, the march for the 67 years of January 23, 1958, which the ruling party designated as “the civil-military rebellion of 23E.”
He referred to the elections that will be held this year: governorships, mayors, legislative councils and municipal councils, and “the very important election” of the new National Assembly (AN).
“This year we will reach 34 elections, a world record for participation, freedoms, and constitutional elections,” he said.
He announced that he ordered the PSUV and proposed to the Great Patriotic Pole the holding of an organizational congress “to choose the method with which we are going to select the candidates for the elections that are going to be called. “I want to make a big renovation so that new leadership goes to battle, to the AN and to all positions.”
From the Balcón del Pueblo, Maduro said that “the most beautiful thing I have inherited from Chávez is the love of the people” and maintained that in Venezuela the people rule as evidenced in “the civic-military-police fusion.”
He said that it was on January 23, 2019, when he dared to appear in the Balcón del Pueblo “a symbol” of Chávez and said that it was the day “when they tried to put a puppet car, an agent of imperialism, as president ( Juan Guaidó also said: “I called the people and told them to come and that this claim will not pass.”
According to Maduro, “they intend to impose another filth on us (Edmundo González Urrutia), but the result will be the same: The garbage dump of history awaits them.”
He also said that on February 2, the first National Popular Consultation of 2025 will be held, for which 36 thousand projects, which were nominated by the communities, are registered with the National Electoral Council (CNE).
Maduro supports Colombia
Likewise, Maduro said during his speech that Venezuela supports Colombia in its fight for peace. “From Venezuela they will always have comprehensive support for peace and building a Colombia and a Venezuela of unity and prosperity in El Libertador Simón Bolívar,” he expressed.
This Thursday, President Gustavo Petro indicated that he spoke with Maduro, “to actively patrol the illegal crossings on the border between both countries, particularly near the Catatumbo River,” this in the midst of the crisis generated in Catatumbo by the clashes with the ELN.

On the other hand, Nicolás Maduro ratified the order given to the Minister of the Interior and Justice, Diosdado Cabello, to end criminal groups and maintained that Petare “will be free of violence.”
“We are in permanent combat against the enemies of the people, of peace, against terrorists and criminals (…) Yesterday Diosdado Cabello wrote to me: Wilexis (Wilexis Alexander Acevedo Monasterios) fell. The terrorist is killed. Another achievement of the Bolivarian Shield and the popular-military-police fusion, peace. Peace for Petare, for Caracas. Peace for the Venezuelan people,” he noted.
At this point, he accused former Colombian presidents Àlvaro Uribe and Ivàn Duque of providing drugs to criminal gangs in Venezuela.
