Maduro holds meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu

In an action aimed at deepening strategic alliances, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, receives this Friday the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavusoglu, at the Miraflores Palace, located in Caracas.

The meeting is held on the occasion of the installation of the III Mixed Commission Venezuela – Türkiye, which confirms the intention of Caracas and Ankara to strengthen bilateral cooperation in health, economy, agriculture, fishing, education, tourism and sports.

Previously, the Turkish foreign minister paid honors to the memory of the Liberator Simón Bolívar in the National Pantheon through a floral offering ceremony that reaffirms the commitment to the struggle for sovereignty and the integration of peoples.

Çavusoglu arrived this Thursday at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, located in the state of La Guaira, where his Venezuelan counterpart, Félix Plasencia, would receive him. Upon his arrival, the head of Turkish diplomacy expressed the will of the government of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to strengthen the cooperative relationship with Venezuela through participation in bilateral meetings, reports the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs.

In this sense, from a perspective of economic strengthening in the short and medium term, a business round was held at the International Center for Productive Investments (CIIP), where a “balance of joint actions to be taken to strengthen trade and investment was carried out. ”, specified the Chancellor of the Republic, Félix Plasencia.

The working day also included the inauguration of the San Román School of the Maarif Foundation, a pioneering Turkish institution in educational training with international recognition.

Venezuela is the last stop on the Latin American tour that Turkey’s Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavusoglu, will begin on Saturday, April 23, in Uruguay. The schedule of official visits also included Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Panama.

Caracas and Ankara have signed 20 bilateral agreements, one of the most recent being the tourism implementation programs between 2022 and 2024.
