“Independence is the most important process in the history of Venezuela”, as described by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to commemorate the 213th anniversary of the first cry for Independence on April 19, 1810.
Through his official account on the social network Twitter, the Head of State said that “213 years after the first cry for freedom, the patriotic spirit of the heroes and heroines of those times woke up and lives in our People.”
“Independence is the most important process in the history of Venezuela, 213 years after the first cry for freedom, the patriotic spirit of the heroes and heroines of those times woke up and lives in our People. Revolution is Independence and Homeland forever!” Maduro said on the social network.
In another trill, the national President also commemorated the day of the American Aboriginal where he pointed out that this is a date to condemn racial discrimination, advocate respect for indigenous communities, their customs, traditions, and celebrate the immense cultural heritage “of the that we are proud, and that we must preserve as part of our identity”.
Lastly, the Dignitary referred on the same social network to the commemoration of the Victory of the Cuban Revolution in Playa Girón. “Cubans defended their sovereignty and achieved a historic victory by defeating the empire on the sands of Playa Girón. A feat that serves as inspiration on each day of the Revolution, to face new battles and win new victories”.
