Maduro highlights defense of the Essequibo in the ICJ and calls to "build" Chavista leadership

From the Poliedro de Caracas, Nicolás Maduro challenged Henrique Capriles to a debate and said that the former governor travels the country “with his lies, with his demagogy.” The president thanked Vice President Delcy Rodríguez for “the firm position” in defending the Essequibo in The Hague

The governor Nicolas Maduro led, this Thursday, November 17, the swearing-in act of the structure elected by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in Caracas.

From the Poliedro de Caracas, Maduro urged the ruling party to maintain unity.

“Our revolution is a popular, constitutionalist, democratic, radical, socialist, Bolivarian and deeply Chavista revolution, today more than ever,” Maduro emphasized.

He assured that his government is building a socialist and popular revolution for the 21st century.

“These are not patches that we put on capitalism, it is a socialist and popular revolution, and we have done it in an exemplary manner, electing with the people in the streets all the street, community and UBCh leaders through the secret and direct vote of the people of Venezuela.” Maduro pointed out.

He instructed the leaders of popular power to build harmonious, united and collective teams. “We must build a Chavista leadership,” he emphasized.

He expressed that the PSUV, more than a party, “is an organized people, a popular power, a telluric force of history. We are the popular power turned into a political force”.

During the act, Nicolás Maduro insisted that children and young people must be trained in direct democracy, in popular power, in radical and socialist democracy. “This is what we are doing, building a new State, the democratic, social, justice, and legal State,” he added.

He boasted that, in the last two decades, 29 elections have been held in Venezuela, 27 of which the ruling party has won.

According to the ruler, in the year 2022, progress has been made “by leaps and bounds towards the definitive defeat of the imperial conspiracy, we have democratized Venezuelan society.”

Likewise, Maduro challenged Henrique Capriles, ex-governor of Miranda, to a debate. He indicated that the national leader of Primero Justicia (PJ), who has not yet formalized his presidential candidacy, is touring the country “with his lies, with his demagogy, with his falsehood, claiming the fourth republic, speaking ill of Venezuela, speaking ill of the constitution, speaking ill of the people”.

For his part, Deputy Diosdado Cabello, first vice president of the PSUV, said that the swearing in of party structures in Caracas is celebrated after having gone around all of Venezuela.

«We closed in Caracas because as the saying goes here we play Rosalinda. Here in 2002 the coup leaders said that the final battle would be in Miraflores,” Cabello said.

The pro-government leader called on the PSUV structures to face each of the tasks with character and rigor. “You are charged with the necessary legitimacy to organize, unite and join in each street so that the people join the Bolivarian Revolution,” he said.

In her speech, the mayoress of Caracas, Carmen Teresa Meléndez, said that more than 30,000 elections for community leaders were held in the capital.

“There are 27% of older adults directing the community councils and 74.6% of the heads of the Ubch (Bolívar Chávez Battle Units) are women,” he said.

Maduro recognizes management by the Essequibo

This Thursday, Maduro also referred to the efforts made in recent days by Vice President Delcy Rodríguez to defend the essequibo before the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

«Bolivarian peace diplomacy once again takes a big step in The Hague. Venezuela defends its historical rights, with the truth, over the Essequibo territory. I appreciate the firm position of Vice President Delcy Rodríguez. The Essequibo is ours! ”, She asserted.

Likewise, the ruler congratulated the legal and historian team that has given a battle for the Essequibo. “Sooner than later, this battle will have the legal and territorial rights of Venezuela over the Essequibo as a victory.”
