Maduro highlights comprehensive defense model and calls to preserve peace

From the rural tourist commune Parque Caiza, in the state of Miranda, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, offered statements this Thursday about Venezuela’s territorial defense model and the regional geopolitical context.

In the midst of supervising productive advances in the territorythe president reiterated that the country has tested its comprehensive defensive system against what he described as 14 weeks of threat from the United States government.

Territorial defense system and regional context

Maduro pointed out that the territorial comprehensive defense system has been activated due to the increase in US military presence in the Caribbean.

“The gringos have 15 ships, 2,600 missiles, 100 airplanes, and now the largest aircraft carrier in the world is coming, the General Ford,” he said.

The president affirmed that, despite this scenario, Venezuela remains firm on its path of production, work, construction and direct democracy.

The president stressed that the people also have “cojones and ovaries to fight and win peace with the truth,” in the face of the US military deployment in the Caribbean. “Nothing and no one is going to take us away from our center, from our truth,” he added.

Criticism of hegemonic discourse and call to youth

During his intervention, Maduro questioned the international narrative that, according to him, positions Latin American and African countries as antagonists in narratives of power.

“They believe that life is a bad Hollywood movie, where the supremacists win everything and we are always the bad guys,” he said.

The president also called on Venezuelan youth to assume an active role in the defense of the homeland and in the construction of new realities.

“Thus we have to be possessed of the sacred flame of the homeland, of the immortal spirit of Venezuela and of the Bolivarian ideal,” he expressed.

Maduro reiterated that his leadership represents an expression of the organized people, not an individual figure. “It is not Maduro, it is a people in perfect union. A vibrant, rebellious people, creator of new realities,” he stated.

During his tour of Parque Caiza, the president highlighted the role of the communes in the local production model and in the consolidation of participatory democracy. He ended his speech with a call to preserve peace as a fundamental principle of the nation.

“Win peace, preserve peace. Peace be with you. And with your spirit. Let us give peace.”
