The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted on Monday the fight of the officials of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) in the south of the country, to eradicate illegal mining.
“All the posts and commands of the FANB are taking care of territorial integrity, on the front lines of the battle against criminal gangs, illegal mining,” said the Venezuelan head of state during his Con Maduro + program.
In statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, the National President indicated that, during the operations, “many people who come from other countries” have been found to carry out these illegal practices.
“There is an intense battle, until we achieve the objective, a thorough battle and all of Venezuela supporting,” said the Venezuelan president.
Last week, President Maduro urged the media to publicize the work carried out by FANB officials in the south of the country, to eradicate illegal mining.
It should be remembered that the FANB has been deployed in all national parks and forest reserves located in the security and defense zones of the State, with the aim of protecting the environment and combating illegal activities such as illegal mining.

During the program, President Maduro highlighted the civic-military union that remains deployed throughout the country, for the recovery of educational and health centers, through the Military Community Brigades (Bricomiles).
“The FANB is in a social battle, in union with the people, in the Bricomiles, the community brigades, and there comes the hand of the FANB, loving, our officers, to unite with the communal councils, with the neighbors, to work ”, he stressed.
More than 10,000 educational centers have recovered, through the Bricomiles.
