«I have ordered General Jorge Márquez, president of Conatel, to contact TikTok Latin America in Mexico and give them 72 hours to remove this abusive and criminal content. The death of these children falls on you because it is you, TikTok, who are spreading this»he explained.

He mentioned that the government will take «severe measures» against the platform in defense of children’s rights if dangerous content is not removed, and invited parents and teachers to be more attentive to the content consumed by minors.

The Minister of Education, Héctor Rodríguez, also called on parents, teachers and authorities to reinforce surveillance over the content consumed by minors, due to the recent mass poisoning that affected more than 300 people in five high schools in the country: two in Portuguesa. , two in Miranda and one in Barinas.
Rodríguez stressed that digital platforms «They cannot be lawless spaces»in which any dangerous content circulates without regulation or consequences.
The trends are being investigated by the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc), according to the minister.
