The President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Nicolás Maduro, affirmed this Tuesday that the people and the Armed Forces that carry the banner of freedom are standing in Venezuela, more united than ever and fighting for the future that Generals Simón Bolívar and San Martín dreamed of.
During the act of Transmission of Command of the Bolivarian Navy and Bolivarian Military Aviation components, President Maduro stressed that 200 years after the meeting between Simón Bolívar and José de San Martín “we were born as a Great Homeland and we can only exist as a Great Homeland.”
“Today we celebrate 200 years since the meeting of two giants: General José de San Martín and General Simón Bolívar in Guayaquil, a territory by then added to the Colombia that defeated the army and Spanish domination,” Maduro stressed.
From the courtyard of the Ministry of Defense in Fort Tiuna, Caracas, the head of state highlighted the importance of this act for the strengthening of our Bolivarian National Armed Forces in its institutional capacity for command, “in its capacity for action for comprehensive defense of our territory and our people.
In the activity, the dignitary emphasized that the FANB must have a strategic vision of the Great Homeland, of the free Homeland, of the rebel Homeland.
On the other hand, the national president appointed M/G Santiago Alejandro Infante Itriago as General Commander of Military Aviation and Admiral Aníbal José Brito Hernández as General Commander of the Bolivarian Navy to replace Admiral Alexander José Velásquez Bastidas.

Maduro confirmed that the FANB has a powerful combative morality, a powerful patriotic morality. “The Bolivarian Revolution has formed a powerful combative morale, a powerful patriotic morale of a powerful Bolivarian National Armed Force,” he asserted.
For his part, the outgoing commander of the Bolivarian Navy, Alexander Velásquez, stressed that they are relieved in command by “two great officers”, with a proven track record, whom we had the honor of meeting.
«Admiral Anibal Brito Hernández, Major General Santiago Infante Intriago, we know that his ability and the qualities that have adorned his rising careers will allow him to develop a brilliant management. We wish you all the success in the world. We are calm because we know that we leave our charges in good hands », he stressed.
He asked the Navy and Aviation crews to deliver “the same loyalty, discipline and dedication that they gave us during our administration.”
“Make them feel as we feel: proud to have commanded them,” he added.
In his speech, Velásquez praised the supportive role of parents and wives during the career of a FANB officer.
New appointments within the FANB
The commander in chief of the FANB, Nicolás Maduro, appointed this Tuesday the M/G Sidney Ramón Lázaro Partidas in command of the Los Llanos Region, as well as the M/G Manuel Enrique Castillo Rengifo in charge of the Los Andes Region.
Likewise, he ratified M/G Javier Marcano Tabata in the Capital Region; M/G José Murga Baptista in the Central Region and M/G Winder Enrique González Urdaneta in the Eastern Region.
Similarly, in the Guayana Integral Defense Region, the M/G Alfredo Parra remains; Admiral Neil Villamizar Sánchez will continue in the Insular Maritime Region and M/G Renier Urbáez Fermín will continue in the Western Region.
Finally, in the Comprehensive Aerospace Defense Command, Maduro announced that the M/G Hernán García Perozo will continue.
Conspiracy against the peace of Venezuela
President Maduro warned that there is a conspiracy with terrorists and traitors born in Venezuela to harm the Homeland, “but no crime is perfect and we will know how to neutralize, defeat and persecute the criminals who conspire against stability,” he denounced.
For this reason, Maduro instructed the Superior General Staff of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) to remain alert to guarantee peace in the face of terrorist threats orchestrated from Bogotá.
He reiterated the importance of being attentive to guarantee the national stability achieved thanks to the strategies that the National Executive has implemented in favor of the Venezuelan people.
“Alert the entire intelligence, counterintelligence and security police system, alert, because we do everything for the peace of Venezuela, for the right to happiness, tranquility, prosperity in these times of recovery and growth that our beloved lives. Venezuela”, he emphasized.
