President Nicolás Maduro called on the Federal Government Council Plenary Session held on Tuesday to focus on four points of governability to promote popular power and optimize government action in all regions of the country.
Firstly, the Head of State asked that the Federal Government Council concentrate its efforts on ensuring the best conditions for the start of the school year and keeping school facilities in optimal condition.
“We are on the eve of the new school year, and we must ensure that before September 30 we provide the best conditions for young people for the start of the school year,” he said.
As a second point, he asked to adjust the coordination of the 1×10 of Good Government down to the last municipality in order to resume the adaptation of public services as a priority issue. “The issue of public services, down to the last municipality, must be reinforced by the 1×10 System of Good Government. This issue is a priority, to address complaints without delay,” said the president.
Thirdly, the national leader asked for maximum support for the projects approved in the Popular Consultation number 2, in which 4,508 community projects were admitted. “I urge the governors and mayors to give all their support to the projects approved by the communities. 4,508 projects that require all the concentration and effort, so that our people can advance at an accelerated pace in the projects they approved,” he requested.
“We have to make a major change in the political model, within the framework of the constitution, which establishes new mechanisms that we have not used, in the field of participatory and protagonistic democracy,” he acknowledged.
He said that “we must empower the people in the territory, it is the most ambitious project of democracy that exists today in Latin America and the Caribbean… go transforming your mayoralties and governorships so that they are structures intertwined with the citizens.”
Finally, he called for a multidimensional dialogue, encompassing the political, economic, cultural, social and religious. He appointed Vice President Delcy Rodríguez to lead a major consultative dialogue on the issues of peace, strengthening democracy and sovereignty. “These are major issues in which you have a voice and a part,” he told the governors and mayors as regional authorities and leaders of their localities.
“The best vaccine against the virus of fascism, against the drums of war, is dialogue, constitutional strength and the unity of the nation,” the president said.
