During the commemoration of the Day for the Rescue of National Dignity and the 14th anniversary of the Bolivarian Militia, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, left open the possibility that presidential elections will be held in the country this 2023.
“We don’t know if they will be this year or next. Keep that secret for me, delete this from the recording,” Maduro revealed in a complicit tone with those present who responded by chanting the slogan “Maduro, friend, the people are with you!”
The national President pointed out that the people must prepare to continue defeating all opponents year after year and prepare for permanent victory.
Maduro wondered: Where are the coup leaders of April 11, 2002 after 21 years? to which he himself replied that a part of them continues to conspire, deceive, living off the corruption that is politics for the opposition, living off the theft of Venezuela’s resources and assets abroad. “Now they intend to wash their face (opposition) by disguising themselves as Democrats to run in the upcoming presidential elections.”
Let us remember that on October 7, 2022, during a political act with the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), the national President also referred to a possible electoral scenario in 2024 or before (2023).
At that time he expressed: “Héctor Rodríguez tells me that the elections are in 2024 or before (…) The truth is that we are prepared for when there are elections and go out for a great victory,” the Head of State said at the time.
