The president, Nicolás Maduro, denounced this Friday the theft of 14 million dollars from an account, by the Venezuelan right, to pay “bonuses”, even though they are not holding any public office and are fugitives from justice.
«There is a false National Assembly from 2015, from the extreme right, stealing. They took $14 million from a foreign account that belongs to Venezuelans to give bonuses to Juan Guaidó, “María Corina Machado, Julio Borges and other supposed members of the fictitious 2015 assembly. In addition to being fascists, they are thieves and criminals,” said the head of state during the inauguration of the headquarters of the PNB Service Academy.
The face of thieves
Last Tuesday, December 2, the National Assembly (AN) unveiled the results of an investigation carried out by one of its special commissions, where 351 people responsible for the theft of Citgo, a PDVSA subsidiary, in the United States (USA) were identified.
In this document, there are 94 parliamentarians from the AN from 2015 and who, although they are no longer in office, still continue to usurp the role of Venezuelan deputies, as well as 108 officials who, during the illegitimate government of Juan Guaidó, were sworn in as supposed officials of public institutions.
Additionally, on this list are 149 NGO directors, who have benefited from financing through Citgo’s Simón Bolívar Foundation.
Prior to the ordinary session of parliament, the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, pointed out that behind the dispossession of Citgo are Julio Borge and Juan Guaidó, among other far-rightists, who have illegally appropriated the profits of this PDVSA subsidiary.
