This Friday, President Nicolás Maduro congratulated his counterpart Xi Jinping for having been re-elected for a new government term in the People’s Republic of China.
Extending his congratulatory words, the Head of State recognized Xi Jinping as a friend of Venezuela, and “with whom we will continue along the paths of building a new humanity, of cooperation” for the well-being of both peoples, he stressed through a message on his account on the social network Twitter.
“My congratulations to President Xi Jinping on his election for a new term in the People’s Republic of China. Friend of Venezuela and a leader with whom we will continue along the paths of building a new humanity with a common destiny, cooperation and well-being”, published the national President.
Xi Jinping re-election
Xi Jinping was unanimously elected as President of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Chairman of the PRC Central Military Commission this Friday at the current session of the XIV National People’s Assembly (APN).
The nearly 3,000 members of Parliament ratified the 69-year-old Chinese leader for a third five-year presidential term (2023-2028), reported Telesur.
Xi has been President for 10 years and has also been the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) since 2012.
Venezuela-China relations
The governments of Venezuela and China they maintain good relations of brotherhood, solidarity and cooperation, under mutual respect, with the common objective of bringing development and prosperity to their peoples.
By mid-February 2023, both countries agreed initiate a higher level of cooperationduring the meeting between the Venezuelan ambassador, Giuseppe Yoffreda, and the head of Government of Macao, an autonomous region on the south coast of China, Hot Iat Seng.
The information was released by the Embassy of Venezuela in China, through a message on his account on the social network Twitter, in which it was specified that the meeting between the two officials took place after the working visit to the special administrative region of Macao, in China, of the ambassador Venezuelan, Giuseppe Yoffreda.
Venezuela and China have maintained a broad and strategic cooperative relationship and brotherhood, which has materialized with more than 600 joint projects for the benefit of both nations.
The cooperation projects maintained by both countries cover areas such as: economy, industry, housing, agriculture, technology, transportation, trade, defense, among others.
