The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, congratulated the people of Namibia on the popular victory of Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah as the first elected president of his country.
“I congratulate with great joy the brother people of Namibia on the result of the general elections of recent November 27, where the historic party of its independence, the South West African People’s Organization (SWAPO) won the popular victory together with the leadership of a extraordinary woman, Honorable Madam, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, First elected President in the history of her country,” he wrote in his Telegram channel the first national leader.
Likewise, he wished the president the greatest success in continuing to strengthen friendship in defense of the sovereignty of both countries, as well as working on the construction of a multicentric and pluripolar world.
Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah obtained 54.82% of the votes in her country’s presidential elections, with a count of 65.57% of the votes according to the results released by the Namibian Electoral Commission this Tuesday.
