Maduro congratulates the new Metro union board of directors

This Friday, the new union Board of Directors of the Caracas Metro System was elected, being re-elected as president of the system workers union, Edison Alvarado.

Through its account on the social network Twitter, the SITRAMECA Electoral Commission reported that, with 88.39% of the votes, the Base 25 trend had been imposed.

“With 4,539 votes in an electoral universe of 7,770 voters, the Base 25 trend obtains 88.39% of the votes, positioning itself as the new Board of Directors of SITRAMECA and Disciplinary Court for the period 2023 -2026,” he wrote on the social network. .

Following the announcement, President Nicolás Maduro extended his congratulations to the Board of Directors of the Caracas Metro union, elected in the last elections of the capital’s transportation system.

“I congratulate Edison Alvarado and the victorious Board of Directors with 88.39%, in the union elections of the Caracas Metro. Extraordinary day, in which my brothers from the working class assume the vanguard of the workers’ management for the construction of a prosperous Homeland”, expressed the head of state on his account on the social network Twitter.

Subsequently, Alvarado spoke on social networks, and promised to work for the construction of “a new model of socialist and self-sustaining management.”

“Today, March 10, I once again assume the challenge of going together with my brothers from the working class of #SITRAMECA the construction of a New Socialist and Self-sustaining Management Model in our Caracas Metro system. That’s right, he won the iron #Base25 with 88.39%, THE WORKING CLASS won,” Alvarado wrote on the social network.
