Maduro confirms commitment to reimprorate the CELAC

He President of the RepublicNicolás Maduro, highlighted respect for sovereignty and the fight against geopolitical threats such as the way to save the community of Latin American and Caribbean states (CELAC).

“If respect for sovereignty is imposed and internal affairs as a principle, and the great need to face the geopolitical threats that the continent today has arrived – which have the assurance that we are going to work a good path for Save the CELAC and to boost among our countries new dynamics of approach, integration and joint growth, ”he said during an interview with the Brazilian journalist Bornno Altman.

He also expressed concern about what he considers an operation of the extremist right in the region, mentioning political figures such as Javier Milei, Daniel Noboa and Nayib Bukele, who are the ones who encourage and try to divide and destabilize Latin America.

Maduro stressed that, despite the fact that five of the six main economies in the region are led by leftist governments, there are still significant challenges that must be addressed.

He recalled his commitment to the CELAC during his swearing in January 10 and stressed the need for new initiatives for economic cooperation, active trade and cultural integration between Latin American countries.

There is no crisis with Brazil

The Venezuelan dignitary said Monday in the interview broadcast by Telesur that with the Brazilian government “there is no crisis.”

“There are simply differences between the Foreign Affairs, differences with advisors there and here,” said the head of state, while ratifying the commitment of both presidencies to understand and “pass the page, see the new scenario that the world geopolitics has and prioritize the relations between Brazil and Venezuela. ”

Maduro outlined that several Brazilian investors in oil, gas, petrochemistry, energy and tourism are arriving.

“If there are differences of criteria the only way is to speak and communicate,” he said and said that Venezuelan Chancellor Yván Gil has a “fluid communication” with his counterpart from Itamaraty, Mauro Viera.

“We are destined to understand ourselves for Latin America, the Caribbean, the peace and the development of our countries,” he settled.
