Maduro commemorates the 1st anniversary of the University of Sciences

President Nicolás Maduro celebrated this Friday the first anniversary of the founding of the University of Sciences, Dr. Humberto Fernández Morán.

The national leader was accompanied by the Minister of Health, Magaly Gutiérrez, the representative of the Science and Technology portfolio, Gabriela Jiménez, and the Minister of University Education, Ricardo Sánchez.

The live broadcast began with an interaction between the doctors who work at the University. They showed the new articulated system where all the patient’s history will be uploaded so that the treating doctors have access to it.

This is possible thanks to “Sovereign AI”, which is why the head of state highlighted that in Venezuela artificial intelligence is used for good and not “to throw bombs”, as they do in Israel.

Student Enrollment

President Maduro indicated that more than 1,800 students live at the University of Sciences, Dr. Humberto Fernández Morán in its 16 careers. While 2,800 people are ready to enter next year.

“16 courses are being given, 1,805 from all over the country, 2,800 new students are on the admission list, who sooner rather than later, in the first quarter of 2026, will have to enter these classrooms,” he reported.

Likewise, he explained that it is a work shared with the brothers from China, Vietnam, Russia, Mexico, Cuba, among others,” and added that “we are on the path to making all dreams come true, the first dream is to see Venezuela in peace.”

The national leader explained that of these 16 careers, six are engineering, which are the following: Electromedicine Engineering, Robotics and Automation Engineering, Automaterials Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering.

While in bachelor’s degrees there are 10 special ones, which are Bachelor in Nuclear Physics, Bachelor in Biotechnology, Bachelor in Data Science, Bachelor in Nano Technology, Bachelor in Molecular Science, Bachelor in Osteotechnology, Bachelor in Biology and Computational Chemistry, Bachelor in Physics, Bachelor in Mathematics and Bachelor in Philosophy.

For next year, the incorporation of three new majors is planned: Environmental and Climate Sciences, Geoscience and Virology.

Maduro highlighted the innovation of these careers, for the creation of scientists for Venezuela, without the support of any empire.

Two large scientific blocks

During his speech, the head of state explained that two large scientific blocks have been created to continue promoting this sector in the country, from students of all levels.

“A first large block is the Venezuelan scientific community, with 67 thousand scientists fortified in this Great Humberto Fernández Morán Mission, in all areas of science applied to life,” he specified.

Maduro also pointed out that “if that were not enough, we created scientific hotbeds, many of you come from scientific hotbeds. We started with 20 thousand boys in high schools, 30 thousand, 40 thousand, 50 thousand, 100 and now it has skyrocketed (…) the scientific seedbed has reached 850 thousand girls, boys, young people from schools, high schools throughout the country.

«They are two blocks of force, it is like a tsunami of general will, it is a tsunami of collective consciousness, this is a tsunami of knowledge and science for humanity. In this case for the good of humanity

The national leader took the opportunity to ask students to always take into account the importance of ethics, while emphasizing that in Venezuela there is a profitable future for young people, where they can develop their qualities with the support of the Executive.
