The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, participated this Wednesday in the closing of the Bolívar and San Martín International Colloquium and in the Civil-Military Act-cultural commemorative of the Bicentennial of the Interview of Guayaquil.
The head of state was received by a dramatization of the historic moment that occurred 200 years ago and lasted two days and from there he stressed that the day that brought together 10 countries in the region has been an unprecedented event in the country.
“We would have liked to celebrate it with the people of Guayaquil. This colloquium has delved into the depth of a unique historical moment: the meeting between two giants, Simón Bolívar and José de San Martín, heroes of the Great Homeland”, he said from the Theater of the Military Academy.
The three-day event brought together more than 300 researchers, including 14 specialists from Latin American countries.
The head of state called for an effort to be made from all educational spaces to bring the content of this and other colloquiums to the youth, “so that a new cycle of historical awareness is fulfilled,” he said.
«The spiritual and moral force is the only one that can move the peoples again. Faith, optimism and confidence in the future is the only thing that can move us towards great victories”, emphasized the national president.
He called for depending on the people’s own efforts to guarantee Venezuelan peace and Venezuelan integrity, as well as economic recovery, and recalled that Venezuela was a people in arms made an army against an empire that did not believe in the ideas of history.
He explained that he met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Mohammad Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, who was interested in the way in which Venezuela has been fighting the imperial onslaught.
