Maduro: Chávez left a legacy to confront imperialism

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized this Saturday that Commander Hugo Chávez left a legacy to face the attacks promoted by the United States (USA).

In an interview on the show The blackboard, The Venezuelan head of state emphasized that Commander Chávez has always been present in all struggles and battles, accompanying the National Government and the people.

“Chávez has always been present in the reflection, in the ideal, in the example, in the self-demand, there has been no absence, there has been presence, and I truly feel that we have had his permanent advice, because he left a legacy to face to imperialism, to leave the Latin American union”, expressed the National President.

Similarly, he indicated that, as part of that legacy, progress has been made in the construction of community territorial socialism.

“We have felt his presence, and we have proposed that he always be present, in every public or private activity, in political training schools, he is present, because a man of the worth and intelligence of Commander Chávez, left us prepared to face everything we have faced, but we had the spiritual deck inside. There has not been an absence, there has been a presence, ”he stressed.

In this regard, he stressed that the attacks promoted by the US – with the support of the Venezuelan right – have always aimed at destroying the Bolivarian project, however, they have not been successful.

“We have maintained a balance in the midst of the battle that has touched us. We have faced sanctions, assassination attempts, brutal campaigns and here we are standing”, she pointed out.

Consulted about the presidential elections, which will take place next year, the Venezuelan president stressed that, in 2025, the candidate chosen by the people will be sworn in.

“In 2024 the presidential elections will come, the people will vote, elect and on January 10, 2025 the President-elect will be sworn in and will follow the course of our country in peace, in democracy, with popular leadership”, he sentenced.

Second progressive wave in Latin America

On the other hand, President Maduro stressed that, at this time, the uprising of a second progressive wave is taking place in Latin America, given the exhaustion of the neoliberal model in the region.

“I have not been surprised that a second progressive wave is rising, the exhaustion of neoliberalism as a formula, in Latin America, is exhausted,” he said.

This – he explained – is due to the fact that the “neoliberal oligarchy has nothing to offer the people”.
