Maduro celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Cuba-Venezuela Comprehensive Agreement

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, through his Telegram channel remembered the 25 years since the signing of the Comprehensive Cuba-Venezuela Cooperation Agreement, which was signed by commanders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro.

«Sealed by two giants: Commander Fidel Castro and Commander Chávez. That day, under the tutelary gaze of Bolívar and Martí, the fundamental step was taken for the deep, spiritual, cultural and political union of our people,” said the first national leader.

He specified that it is “a living testimony of brotherhood that reflects our decision to be free, rebelliously sovereign, above any obstacle, threat or imperialist aggression. We have shown the world that solidarity, cooperation and complementarity are the key to relationships between nations.

He continued by pointing out that “while others promote war and division, Cuba and Venezuela have confirmed that we can move forward together, putting human dignity at the center, bringing health, education and development to our people.”

Finally, he stated that today, Cuba and Venezuela are more united than ever, and “remaining committed to the defense of our sovereignty and Peace. We send a greeting of brotherhood and respect to the heroic Cuban people, to Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, to President Miguel Díaz-Canel and to the entire Leadership of the Revolution. Your resilience is our inspiration. “Long live the union of Cuba and Venezuela: a single flag and a single destiny!”
