President Nicolás Maduro received with respect the words of his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva, in which he spoke cautiously about Venezuela’s internal affairs and distanced himself from giving his opinion on the country’s internal politics.
“It seems to me that it was a wise reflection by Lula. I could say: point in favor of Lula,” said the head of state in a very specific manner.
“I agree with Lula. Each country has to find a way to resolve its issues, its conflicts, its problems. Brazil with its institutions and its national, sovereign dynamics and Venezuela with its institutions and our also sovereign dynamics,” he said.
President Maduro’s opinion comes as a reaction to the statements made this Monday by his Brazilian counterpart in which he said that he cannot continue worrying about the politics of the neighboring country.
“We have to be very careful when we deal with other countries and other presidents,” and added that Venezuelan politics and President Maduro are a matter for Venezuelans and not Brazilians.
“I can’t continue to worry. One day I’ll fight with Nicaragua, another with Venezuela, another I’ll fight with I don’t know who,” he said, before saying that his responsibility was to fight so that Brazil goes in the right direction.
