Maduro calls on Venezuelan industrialists to join large investments in oil and gas

Nicolás Maduro Consejo de Economía Productiva

President Nicolás Maduro said they are willing to sell Venezuelan oil and gas to any government at market prices. «Anyone who wants oil and gas from Venezuela should pay for it, buy it. “Our gas and oil do not have an ideological brand.”

The ruler Nicolás Maduro called on Venezuelan industrialists to build “a good consortium” to add large investments in oil, gas, iron, aluminum and other strategic sectors, without abandoning the growth that – according to what he said – national agricultural production has experienced.

«Large investments are coming. “I asked that Venezuelan industrialists form a good consortium so that Venezuelan industrialists enter into these large investments for oil, gas, iron, aluminum, petrochemicals (…) but parallel to this we have to continue building a real, not fictitious, productive economy,” Maduro said during a meeting of the National Council of Productive Economy.

The president did not offer further details about these “large investments,” but said that they are willing to sell Venezuelan oil and gas to any government at market prices. «Anyone who wants oil and gas from Venezuela should pay for it, buy it. “Our gas and our oil do not have an ideological brand.”

During the meeting, he approved the importation of 500,000 maute mothers to promote genetic variety in the next three years, a request made by the National Federation of Livestock Farmers of Venezuela (Fedenaga). «The consumption of animal protein has increased in Venezuela because national production has increased. “There is no longer the oil jet to buy all the meat in the country.”

He also invited to strengthen the production of meat, chicken and fish, in addition to dairy products produced in the country, while “developing the country’s export vocation” of small and large businessmen.

At this point, he promised to boost coffee exports to the Asian market, specifically China. In addition, he signed the law of approval agreement to strengthen investments between China and Venezuela, sanctioned on September 19 by the National Assembly.

Lan Hu, Chinese ambassador to Venezuela, said that they are convinced of “further strengthening the trade and investment link” between both countries, with a clear regulatory framework for companies.

On the other hand, Nicolás Maduro also agreed to relaunch the “Venezuelan council for quality”, a proposal made by Conindustria. According to the governor, this body will be chaired by the Ministry of National Commerce and will begin working in the first quarter of 2025.

With this they hope to have “a detailed map of the economic drivers” and the country’s production process. “Let’s go to something that can make Venezuela different within the framework of the international market, which is the highest quality of the product made in Venezuela,” Maduro urged.

While Vice President Delcy Rodríguez reported on the installation of 100 Christmas fairs, which will be available until December 20, throughout the country with entrepreneurs, with the aim of “promoting and positioning” Venezuelan products in the international market. »Producers will have a 30% reduction in the price of paint, textiles, Christmas products and gifts.»
