President Nicolás Maduro said this Monday, January 6, that the Government of Argentina had an alleged plan to attack the life of the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, among other terrorist activities, for which he assured that 125 “mercenaries” have been arrested. » foreigners.

During an event with civil, police and military authorities, Maduro specified that a group of people left “from the south of America with specific plans to try to attack the life of the vice president” and added that in one of those alleged “violent plans” President Javier Milei is “directly” involved.

Nicolás Maduro affirmed that this is “an international fascist aggression against Venezuela” that he said “leads, finances and promotes North American imperialism.”

The president stated that they were waiting for the arrival of the “terrorists” because from Argentina they had given signs that this would happen. “We were waiting for those people (…) we have good intelligence, they came from the south of America.”

For his part, the Minister of the Interior and Justice, Diosdado Cabello, explained that the 125 “captured terrorists” – of a total of “25 nationalities, including Venezuelans” – had as their “first mission” to attack Rodríguez, also holder of the portfolio. of Hydrocarbons.

“It was the first information that reached us and, from there, the investigation began, and they have been arrested, they are being processed, brought to justice, as appropriate,” Cabello said at the event with Nicolás Maduro.

He added that other specific tasks of these alleged terrorists were to attack public services and attack leaders of the ruling party.
