Maduro asks the Public Ministry to resume the case of Orlando Figuera

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, urged Attorney General Tarek William Saab on Monday for his office to resume the investigations and procedures corresponding to the case of the young Orlando Figuera, six years after his murder.

“I ask the Attorney General of the Republic, the prosecutor Tarek William Saab, I ask that in the name of the Republic he resume all the efforts to hand over the murderers of Orlando Figuera, doing justice is the most important thing now,” he said. the president in his weekly program With Maduro +.

He also urged the population not to forget the fascist acts that were perpetrated in those days, by the Venezuelan extreme right.

“Orlando Figuera was captured, beaten, poured gasoline on him, and burned, because they believed he was a Chavista, a dark boy, a boy from the town, and the fascist, Nazi hordes, of that ultra-right that is now launching candidates, they made an appearance. fat, they played crazy, they never condemned the burning of Orlando Figuera, never, so it must be remembered above all for the youth”, he recalled.

He recalled that in 2017, 16 people throughout the country were burned and tortured by extremist sectors of the right.

“Forbidden to forget there were 16 people throughout the country who were burned, tortured on public roads, the complaint was made, national and international, the direct perpetrators of the crime are abroad, they have not wanted to hand them over,” the President sentenced.
