Maduro approves the creation of the Antifascist International

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, approved the creation of the International Antifascist Congress, which will be based in the city of Caracas.

“I swear to you that fascism will never come to political power in Venezuela (…) There is no way, there is no way,” the head of state said on Wednesday during the Closing of the World Congress against FascismNeofascism and Similar Expressions.

“Venezuela is the epicenter of the multiform aggression of the American empire. There are conflict zones in the world, but the aggression that is most prepared today to try to change the geopolitical process in the region and try to influence the process of emergence of the new world is Venezuela,” he said.

“Imperialism seeks, like Hitler, to occupy its vital space,” he denounced.

In this regard, he asked social movements, politicians, intellectuals, artists, and the entire world to “understand” the reasons for the struggle that the country is waging.

“There is much work to be done if we can bring together the honest people of this world, if we can denounce the new phenomena that are presenting themselves as new fascist currents. If we can formulate viable alternatives for each of our countries; to affirm alternative models to neoliberalism and fascism, then our task will be accomplished,” he said.

“We have the moral and political strength for this Antifascist International to lead the present and future battles for a different world,” Maduro concluded.
