President Nicolás Maduro reported that 52,288 people ran for the elections of justices of the peace, which will be held next Sunday, December 15. He stated that it is ““a universal, direct and secret election”
He leader On December 4, Nicolás Maduro referred to the budget bill for the economic and financial year 2025 that Vice President Delcy Rodríguez presented on December 3 before the National Assembly (AN) and reported the creation of a “communal portfolio fund of the budget”
“We have included in the budget the resources so that they go, through what I am going to create, a communal portfolio fund of the budget and we are going to reach 600 million dollars of new and budgetary direct investment,” Maduro announced during a meeting working with the national electoral commission.
He noted that 200 million dollars will be disbursed for community projects in health, education, water and electricity. He highlighted that a large part of the budget will be allocated to communal power projects, which will arise from the four consultations that will be held in the country in 2025.
Regarding the aforementioned elections, he reported that 52,288 people applied for the elections of justices of the peace, which will be held next Sunday, December 15. He stated that it is “a universal, direct and secret election.

He highlighted that it is estimated that more than four candidates compete for a position at the same time. He explained that for each communal circuit more than 15,000 main judges and their respective substitutes will be elected.
Three representatives will be chosen in each circuit. 48% of the candidates are women and 52% are men, according to the information provided by the commission and shared with President Nicolás Maduro.
The rector of the CNE Carlos Quintero participated in the conversation, pointing out that the election is an opportunity for the entity to join the electoral commissions of the communal circuits and their training.
The elections of justices of the peace will be achieved in three steps: the arrival of the voter, the voting and the delivery of the receipt.
The president reiterated the alleged existence of a campaign abroad to tarnish Venezuela. «There are many people in the world who try to label Venezuela, as if they had the right to label Venezuela or get involved in internal affairs. Do we interfere in the internal affairs of other countries? Ah, but from other sides they believe they can get involved in internal affairs.
The statement was made a day after the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, declared in an event that in Venezuela “they no longer know if it is democracy, they no longer know if it is a revolution, the people no longer love them.”
Maduro stressed that “the best way to defend our sovereignty, our dignity and our honor is by exercising popular power and giving shit to those who spend their time talking nonsense about Venezuela in the world.”
Finally, he warned that “everyone who has messed with Venezuela has dried up. Everyone who has spoken badly about Venezuela has dried up. “Anyone who speaks today and goes against Venezuela and its democracy will dry up.”
