Likewise, the foreign minister of Petro has indicated that Colombia seeks to be an intermediary between the Venezuelan opposition and the Government of Nicolás Maduro: “The objective will be to reopen roads and build a road map to stimulate and support dialogue between the Venezuelan opposition, society civilian of that country and the Government of Venezuela”.

Since November 2022, the Negotiation and Dialogue Table has been paused while the parties advocate for compliance with the social agreement in Mexico.

“It’s an invention. President Maduro is not coming. I have never said that he is coming. The Palacio de Nariño has never said so,” said Foreign Minister Leyva.
