President Nicolás Maduro reported that investors from Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina and Arab countries have arrived in the nation. On the other hand, he reiterated the thesis of a supposed boycott that seeks to destabilize the economy
Once again the ruler Nicolás Maduro invited businessmen from Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Colombia to invest in the country’s agricultural fields. The president said he was willing to make economic alliances with foreign investors.
Maduro asserted that businessmen from the aforementioned countries want to produce in the Venezuelan internal market and take a good part of the white corn, yellow corn, beans, and meat. He fantasized that in this way Venezuela would end up becoming an exporter.
“Investors have recently come from Uruguay, from Argentina present here. These 25,000 hectares are an investment by a Brazilian in Venezuela, from the Arab world, from Iran, from Turkey the Minister of Agriculture came,” Maduro said on Wednesday, August 31, during a speech from Monagas state broadcast by VTV.
He reported that the soy production goals for the next three years are 250 thousand hectares: 100 thousand in Monagas, another 100 thousand in Anzoátegui and 50 thousand in Guárico.
Border issue and boycott
In its address, referred to the issue of the reopening of the Colombian-Venezuelan border. In this regard, he explained that there are specialized technical commissions to go to the “progressive, productive and happy opening” of the border with Colombia. The president commented that among the evaluations they make are security, customs and the economy.
On the other hand, Maduro reiterated the thesis that there are sectors that want to “disturb” the growth of the Venezuelan economy. He assured that these are the same people who called for the United States to sanction Maduro’s management and those of the so-called “economic war.”
“They dedicated themselves to boycotting the economy, we have to dedicate ourselves to producing and taking care of the economy and that they will not push us back into the chaos of the economic war and imperialist sanctions,” he added.
