In his program Con Maduro + number 99, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, referred to the rejection that the Venezuelan population has given to the recent robbery perpetrated by US military forces of an oil tanker loaded with Venezuelan crude oil in the waters of the Caribbean Sea, which he described as another great national consensus.
“Statistics experts in the world know that no answer and no value reaches 96%, but 96% of the Venezuelan people repudiate the criminal act of the United States against a ship with Venezuelan oil that violates international law and takes us back to the time of piracy,” said the president.
He compared the event with the era of privateers in which the crown of kingdoms such as Spain or England gave the Patent of Marque to criminals who looted resources to sell them in their countries without paying for them. In that sense, he said that “no one has a Patent of Marquee and the law will be respected.”
The president welcomed the recent mobilizations registered this weekend in several cities in the country in rejection of the new dispossession carried out by US imperialism. “Public opinion is combined with the mobilization of the people in the streets expressing their truth and telling the world, Alert! Because this not only targets Venezuela,” he said.
Repudiation of the criminalization of the Venezuelan people
In another reflection, The head of state rejected the statements of the extreme right leader María Corina Machadoin which he said that 60% of the Venezuelan population is linked to drug trafficking activities.
“It is surprising and serious what the sayona María Corina Machado said, manipulating the few followers she has left. She said that 60% of the Venezuelan population is related to drug trafficking,” the visibly indignant president accused.
He ended the comment by saying that “this woman is crazy from so much hatred; she is a criminal, she continues calling for an invasion of the country and her call for war.”
