The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, recalled this Friday that 4 years ago he won the presidency of Venezuela, in the midst of the worst economic war applied against the country.

“On a day like today we obtained victory with a record, 68% of the votes, in an election plagued by threats of violence, plagued by an economic war,” he said.

“It was an election that took place in the midst of an economic war, April and May were the record months of induced hyperinflation, and we just started negotiations in the Dominican Republic,” he added.

He stressed that in 2018 there was the economic war, the criminal and coercive measure, the induced hyperinflation and yet the government created the Homeland Card and the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP).

He related that in November 2017, prior to the elections, the process of negotiation and dialogue with the Venezuelan opposition began and recalled that José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero came to the country.

“They came to propose the terms that the opposition requested, we participated, we agreed to change the date of the elections,” he said. He highlighted that the signing of the peace agreement between the Venezuelan opposition and the National Government was sabotaged by Julio Borges.

“Julio Borges withdrew, said he was not going to sign and sabotaged the signing of that peace agreement that was going to benefit Venezuela.”

He also explained that at the table it was agreed to move the agreed election date in the Dominican Republic from April 22 to May 20 and it was proposed to the National Electoral Council (CNE) and it agreed.

The head of state Nicolás Maduro urged us to always think and build with our own efforts “Only our own efforts will set us free, together with our allies, together with our friends in the world,” he stressed.

He also recalled that in 2020, elections were called for the National Assembly and with the fairness of the people’s vote, electoral victory was achieved and Parliament was installed on January 5, 2021.

“Then came April 30, when a handful of uniformed traitors, along with the self-sworn bobolongo and the murderer of Leopoldo López, took to the streets, but they dried up and we defeated them with the civic-military union,” he said.

2021 was the year of economic recovery

President Maduro stressed that the year 2021 was the year of economic recovery in the country.

“In 2021, a gradual recovery process began in Venezuela, thousands of entrepreneurs began to emerge and to date we have 234,719 thousand registered entrepreneurs.”

He thanked the people of Venezuela for the support they have shown during the last 4 years.

“Thank you very much, beloved people for all the support, the support, for everything we have done, for the capacity for resistance, for the superior conscience. I have to thank you from my heart as a patriot!”, he said four years after his death. re-election.

The head of state assured that thanks to the support of the Venezuelan people it was possible to fight the entire attack on the country, he specifically referred to the imposition of unilateral coercive measures, attempted assassination, political destabilization, attempted invasions, electrical attacks, “are part of of the battles from which the Bolivarian Revolution has emerged victorious since 2018,” he said.
