Machado thanks Sweden for support for a “peaceful transition” in Venezuela

María Corina Machado, opposition leader and 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner, thanked the Swedish government for its support for a “peaceful transition” in Venezuela.

The leader, who left Venezuela in December to receive the Nobel Prize, highlighted the importance of having the support of Sweden, a country with a “solid and respectful of human rights” democracy.

In Machado’s opinion, Sweden’s support will contribute to strengthening effective European pressure that allows for a peaceful transition with full democratic guarantees for all Venezuelans.
