The coordinator of the political organization Vente Venezuela, María Corina Machado, described “timely” and “firm” lhe resolution taken on the morning of this Thursday, January 23, by the European Parliament, a body that condemned the “usurpation of power” by Nicolás Maduro on the 10th of that month.
Through his social networksMachado asserted that “the world knows” that the winner of the presidential elections held in July 2024 was Edmundo González Urrutia; This is based on the minutes that were digitized by the Command with Venezuela, which represented 84% of the votes in the elections.
«No matter what Maduro does, he cannot achieve an iota of legitimacy. On the contrary, every day more crimes of the regime are discovered and reported,” he wrote.
In his opinion, Nicolás Maduro’s administration is becoming more isolated every day and that this fact does not go unnoticed by those in power.
This resolution today from the European Parliament, in which it reaffirms its support for our Popular Sovereignty, is absolutely TIMELY and FIRM. The world knows that the President of Venezuela is Edmundo González Urrutia, because we Venezuelans decided so on July 28.

He European Parliament approved, with 374 votes in favor, 53 against and 163 abstentions, a resolution condemning the “usurpation” of power in Venezuela by President Nicolás Maduro, after his inauguration on the 10th without the disaggregated data being published of the presidential elections that would support the proclamation of the CNE and later of the Supreme Court of Justice.
According to the resolution, the European Parliament considers that Maduro is leading an “illegal” attempt to remain in power and insisted once again that data be published by voting centers and polling stations that demonstrate his victory on July 28.
“The Venezuelan regime has missed a decisive opportunity to respect the will of the people and ensure a transparent democratic transition in the country and, consequently, Maduro lacks democratic legitimacy and is therefore not recognized by Parliament,” they noted.
Furthermore, he assured that the only way for the country to resolve the crisis is for the will of Venezuelans to be respected; based on the minutes held by the Command with Venezuela that give Edmundo González Urrutia the winner; just as they applauded the extension of penalties by the European Union.
