María Corina Machado and Edmundo González condemned that, on these dates, many Venezuelans have not been able to spend Christmas and welcome the new year reunited with their families because many have someone close to them in asylum, exile or as a political prisoner.
The leader of the opposition, María Corina Machado, and the leader Edmundo González assured that they will return to the streets in January 2025 to claim the victory, which they claim they achieved in the presidential elections held on July 28.
Through a video published in X, González asks “all Venezuelans to assume together the commitment to enforce that mandate in 2025.” For his part, Machado recalls that January 10 is the date established by the Constitution for the elected president to assume his duties and begin “that change whose essential purpose is the definitive embrace of all Venezuelans.”

In his message to say goodbye to 2024 and welcome the New Year, Edmundo González recognizes that this has not been an easy year, but Machado remembers that ways have been found to overcome each of the obstacles “to continue advancing towards the country “that we want and deserve.”
