There were more than 4.4 million confirmations, with more than 3 million being young people up to 20 years old, which represents an increase of 27% compared to 2022, before the current government.

“It shows that young people are making a commitment to their future and the future of their country, because if everything goes well in Education, everything will work out in employment, everything will work out in people’s lives”, declared the president.

Lula was also surprised to learn that almost ten thousand registrants are in the age group over 60.

“The more people who are approved the better, because we are aware that Brazil will only be a competitive country with the more developed world, it will only be a rich country, when we are exporting wisdom”.

This year, more than 60% of those registered were womenaccording to data presented by the Inep team to President Lula. “If there is one thing that every father and mother wants, it is for their son and daughter to be educated, because education is a symbol of the independence of men and women”, he stated.

“For the man, because he will have a profession, he will be able to earn more, he will be able to take care of his family, he will be able to live with more dignity. And for women, because the profession means independence. Women do not need to subject themselves to anyone’s annoyance, to anyone’s command”, added the President of the Republic.

Lula visited the Enem monitoring room accompanied by the ministers of Education Camilo Santana, and of Health, Nísia Trindade, head of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha, and the president of Inep, Manuel Palácios, in addition to the first lady Janja Lula.

Camilo Santana highlighted the importance of the Nesting Egg Program for the growth in the number of Enem enrollees. The initiative pays a type of monthly fee, in addition to creating savings for students to promote the retention and completion of school for people enrolled in public secondary education.

“Several states today doubled the number of students enrolled in Enem because you decided to create one of the biggest policies to encourage students to stay in high school and take the Enem”, highlighted the Minister of Education.

According to Inep, in 13 states and the Federal District, 100% enrollment of students completing high school in the public network was recorded.
