President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will undergo a new procedure this Thursday morning, informed the Sírio-Libanês Hospital in a bulletin released at 4:30 pm this Wednesday (11).
He will perform a middle meningeal artery embolization (endovascular procedure).
In a note signed by doctors Luiz Francisco Cardoso and Álvaro Sarkis, the hospital informs that Lula remains under intensive care and that he spent the day well, without any complications. The president underwent physical therapy, walked and received visits from family members.
“As part of the therapeutic program, he will complete the surgery with an endovascular procedure (embolization of the middle meningeal artery) tomorrow morning”, says the text of the bulletin from the Sírio-Libanês hospital, where Lula is hospitalized.
Lula remains under the care of doctors Roberto Kalil Filho and Ana Helena Germoglio.
According to the press office of the Presidency of the Republic, the procedure is not a new surgery nor will it be carried out in the surgical center. The procedure is a catheterization and “protocol part” of the surgery already performed.
History
The president felt headaches on Monday night (9) and, after tests carried out at the Sírio-Libanês hospital, in Brasília, he was transferred to the São Paulo unit.
In the early hours of Tuesday (10), Lula was subjected to a trepanation to drain an intracranial hemorrhage, a consequence of a domestic accident suffered by the president on October 19, when he fell in the bathroom of the official residence and hit his head.
